Several restaurants and rooftop bars specifically position tables to catch sunset views over the historic centre — booking these specific tables in advance, and mentioning the occasion, often gets better placement than a same-day walk-in, particularly at popular spots.
The unphotographed romantic Rome
Beyond the postcard spots (Trevi, the Spanish Steps), quieter romantic options — a slow evening walk through Villa Farnesina's gardens, a private aperitivo table in a Monti wine bar, sunset from the lesser-known Pincian terrace — often deliver more genuine intimacy than the most photographed locations, which are rarely uncrowded.
