Why it's special
Still owned by the Pamphilj family, the gallery occupies a wing of their working palazzo on Via del Corso. An audio guide narrated by a family member adds a personal layer absent from state museum visits.
What's inside
Velázquez's portrait of Pope Innocent X is the standout — the Pope himself reportedly called it "too real." Caravaggio's Rest on the Flight into Egypt and Penitent Magdalene are also here, alongside works by Raphael, Titian and Bruegel.
