One of central Rome's last remaining daily produce markets runs weekday mornings — fruit, vegetables, flowers and spices sold to a mix of locals and cooks from surrounding restaurants. The crowd shifts to tourists by mid-morning.
The statue
The hooded figure at the center is Giordano Bruno, burned at this spot for heresy in 1600 — he faces the Vatican, which is not a coincidence.
Evenings
The surrounding bars and restaurants pick up from aperitivo hour onward, making it one of Rome's more reliably animated evening spots, though prices reflect the foot traffic.
