The two clubs
Rome is the only major Italian city whose two Serie A clubs share a stadium — the Stadio Olimpico in the Flaminio district. AS Roma (giallorossi, yellow and red) and SS Lazio (biancocelesti, blue and white) are fierce rivals whose derby, the Derby della Capitale, is one of the most intensely felt matches in European football.
Going to a match
Tickets are available through official club websites and authorised resellers. Home sections for each club are separate — check which end is which before buying and wear neutral clothing to avoid friction in and around the stadium.
Atmosphere
Italian football culture is audio — the tifosi (supporter groups) in the Curva are among the loudest in Europe. A mid-table Serie A match can feel more atmospheric in Rome than a headline game in some leagues, purely through the noise level.
