The streets immediately around the Pantheon are among the most tourist-saturated in Rome — restaurants on Piazza della Rotonda itself are expensive and mediocre almost without exception.
Walk two streets back
Via della Palombella, Via della Maddalena and the lanes east toward Sant'Eustachio all have better options at noticeably lower prices — you're looking for chalkboard menus, Italian-speaking tables, and no one trying to catch your eye from the doorway.
